TVS plans to expand its EV network and new product launches

Hosur, Sept16: Sudarshan Venu, Joint Managing Director of TVS Motor Business, revealed that in September 2021, the company aims to launch two new products in the sector. He's confident that demand will increase as the holiday season approaches and immunizations are administered more quickly.

"What is very exciting for TVS Motor is that we are launching two very cool products in the 125cc segment. The 125cc motorcycle segment has been growing at over 20 per cent CAGR in the last four or five years and we at TVS Motor Company is committed to bringing new offerings for the millennials," In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Sudarshan Venu explained.
 
International two-wheeler sales are expected to continue to expand at TVS Motor Company. Although there are shortages of semiconductors in the U.S., Applied Materials believes that from September onwards, both in terms of supply as well as due to some reworking of their supply chains, this situation will improve. Electrically powered vehicles are seen as a vital contributor to future zero-carbon economies by the company's executives.
 
 
 
 
"We are developing a full range of products and have a passionate team of over 500 engineers working on this. For World EV Day, we are planning to scale up TVS iQube to over 10 cities and another 25 cities in the near future. We are also looking at some partnerships in the charging space, which will be announced soon to expand the customer convenience of electric vehicles. Going forward in the next two years we will have a full range of electric vehicles from 5 to 25 kilowatts in two and three-wheelers," said Sudarshan Venu.

When asked about plans to install charging stations for electric vehicles, Sudarshan Venu responded, "For us, it's all about improving the customer experience and making fast-charging available as widely as feasible. Our goal is to scale TVS iQube countrywide by March, so we're looking at a lot of partnerships in this area."
